Overview
Discord for Jira Cloud by Tretta allows teams to seamlessly connect their Jira projects with Discord, enabling real-time notifications, issue creation, and insightful project summaries. This integration enhances collaboration by delivering relevant Jira updates directly to a designated Discord channel and providing AI-powered insights into project progress.
With this integration, you can:
Receive Jira issue updates in Discord.
Quickly create Jira issues from within Discord.
Generate AI-powered insights about your project through our new AI agent - the Enterprise Insight Analyst.
Follow the steps below to get started.

1. Install the Integration from the Atlassian Marketplace
Navigate to the Atlassian Marketplace and search for Discord for Jira Cloud by Tretta.
Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions to add the integration to your Jira instance.

2. Connect the Discord Bot to Your Server
In Jira, go to the settings page of the integration.
Click the Connect Discord Bot button.
You will be redirected to a Discord authorization page.
Select the Discord server where you’d like to use the bot and authorize the required permissions.
Once the bot is connected, you’ll see a confirmation message in Jira.

3. Run the Setup Slash Command in Discord
In your Discord server, go to the text channel where you want to receive Jira notifications.
Type the following command: /setup
The bot will prompt you to:
Select the channel where notifications should appear.
Enter your Jira project key (this is the first part of your Jira issue numbers, e.g., for DFJC-51, your project key is DFJC).
Confirm your selections, and the bot will complete the setup.

4. Configure Your Notification Preferences
In Jira, go to notification settings page of the integration.
Choose the types of Jira notifications you’d like to receive in Discord:
Issue Created
Issue Updated
Status Changed
High-Priority Alerts
Save your changes. The bot will now send relevant Jira updates to your selected Discord channel.

5. Create a Jira Issue from Discord
In your Discord server, type: /jira-create
The bot will prompt you to enter:
Project Key (e.g., DFJC)
Summary (Short description of the issue)
Description (Optional, additional details)
Confirm the details, and the bot will create the Jira issue.

6. Generate AI-Powered Project Summaries
In Jira access the Agent via the Chat button.
The Enterprise Insight Analyst will generate a report based on your Jira project’s data, including:
Sprint progress and completion percentage.
Blockers and overdue tasks.
High-priority issues that need attention.
Workload distribution among team members.
The report will be sent as a structured message in Discord, providing key takeaways for your team.
